Some books are written to be read. This one reads back.

Four lockpicking tutorials, one bent bobby pin, and a campus door that opened too easily. Mark and Mina were supposed to be in and out before the cameras came back around. They should have left the book where it was.

The book wants a word

Fire. Steam. Brimstone. Liquid Metal. Rot. Blood. A door.

Write the word a sealed rune is waiting for and the book will know if you're right. Guess wrong as often as you like, it has nowhere else to be. Three hints wait if your mind goes quiet, and it doesn't judge you for asking.

Open two seals and the one they make together stops hiding. That's how you get from four elements to the seven tiers underneath, down to the ones the book files under VETITUM. Forbidden.

A word from the dev

Just to be upfront: this isn't a horror game. No jumpscares, no disturbing imagery, nothing visually heavy. The only thing that gets stranger, more ominous, is the text. The narrating voice shifts tone from humorous to something else as the story goes on. If you're into tension that lives in the words rather than on the screen, that's exactly what we were going for.

The biggest references here are Anomalous Coffee Machine and Cultist Simulator, that domestic/occult mystery vibe that unfolds gradually, more through suggestion and atmosphere than shock.
