The man offering you the job already knows how you take your tea.
Earl Grey, no sugar. It's waiting at your elbow before you've sat down, and you never told anyone in this building. Chairman Volt means it to be charming, and after fourteen months without a single phone call, you let it be charming. He offers you the biggest girl group in the country for one final tour — look after them, keep them steady, and tell him if one of them starts to slip. You keep waiting for the catch. It never comes. It just sounds like a job. A good one.
Then you move in. Live-in manager, standard for idols this big, and closer than any visitor ever gets. One week to prove you're worth keeping — which really means seven days of learning three people you were only ever given files on. A war over hot water at seven in the morning. A cat that hates you on principle. Coffee poured by a woman who does not sit down while you drink it. None of it is small. Every one of those hours is the game deciding how much of the truth you get.
SERA — the leader. Straight-backed, controlled, disciplined enough to run this label if anyone ever let her. She checked you the day your hiring was announced, because she checks everyone. She will not thaw for kindness; kind eyes are cheap, and the man who signs her cheques hires them by the floor. She thaws for competence — for one folder taken off her pile without being asked, and columns that still add up in the morning.
MIMI — the maknae, and the only one who greets you by cataloguing your shoes. Chaos with a filing system underneath it. She runs on nerve and she is testing you constantly, usually while making it look like a joke. Somewhere in the middle of the performance the grin will slip for half a second. Notice it and she'll change the subject twice as fast. Notice it anyway.
YUNA — the voice. The country thinks she's an angel and she has never once corrected them. She watches from up high, says exactly as much as she has decided to say, and hands you nothing you haven't earned. Ask her about the hit and you get the press answer. Ask her about the line she crossed out and you get something real.
And then, at three in the morning: a courier, a bag that shouldn't be in this building, and a door that doesn't close all the way. They pull you inside and lock it — and you find out that the biggest girl group in the country has been reading you at least as hard as you've been reading them, and that the man who hired you was never really talking about hotels.
- Share a home with them. A day that runs morning to night, three separate routines, and every room a different woman at a different guard
- Pay attention. A crossed-out lyric, a glove that isn't hotel issue, a mug left where it shouldn't be — the game files everything you notice
- Choose what leaves the building. Volt wants a report on Friday, fact by fact, and you will hear every word of it again
- Earn three different doors. Competence, honesty, nerve — whoever you're actually being, one of them will read it correctly
- Hand-drawn art, animated adult scenes, 13 languages, and saves that carry straight into the full game
The demo runs two to three hours, uncensored, ending at four in the morning with a contract negotiation nobody's lawyer approved.
